Those of you who know me know that I don't turn down luxurious creams and facials at beauty salons. But I also don't think the simpler and cheaper options/beauty products you often have at home get the attention they deserve. This is how you get some of my best beauty tips for healthy and fresh skin, which don't cost a fortune.

Tip 1 – Drink lemon water

I know, I know, you've heard this a 100 times before and it sounds cliche, but it really helps! When I start my day by squeezing 1-2 lemons into a large glass of water, I find that my skin is much clearer and I don't get as many pore masks.

Tip 2 – Remove makeup with coconut oil

I usually use this in between when my usual make-up remover has run out and I missed buying a new one. Coconut oil is quite greasy so a small dab, a little bigger than a pea, is enough for the whole face. Apply it directly to the skin, without water, then rinse with lukewarm water.

The result is soft and moisturized skin that also smells good!

Tip 3 – Lemon as part of your face wash

Finish your face wash by squeezing a few drops of lemon in your hand and gently rinse your face with the juice. The acid draws out all the dirt and cleans the skin deeply. Lemon juice can also reduce wrinkles and fade scars. And since lemon is antibacterial, it can also help with acne. Try this for a week, or sometime every now and then. The acid in the lemon can cause irritation if used too often, but if used correctly it will give you a real glow.

Tip 4 – Ice cube on the face

Take an ice cube and drag it all over your face until it melts completely. Your pores will tighten and your face will tighten.

Tip 5 – Facial scrub for smooth skin

Mix 1 lemon, 2 dl sugar and 0.75 dl honey for a delicious face scrub. The lemon cleans and brightens, the sugar gently scrubs the skin and the honey softens. The result is an absolutely amazingly smooth complexion!
